The Mahatma Gandhi new Note series ok Banke notes issued by the Reserve Bank of India is the legal tender of Indian rupees intended to replace the Mahatma Gandhi series of banknotes.

Announced on November 8 2016 it follows the demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupees notes of original Mahatma Gandhi series.

Similar to Bharat Abhiyan is also printed on the back of banknotes of this series.

The first bank notes issued in the new series o l d monitization of 500 and 2000 and or in the circulation since November 10 2016.
The banknotes demonetisation of 1000 and 100  and 50 are also expected to be introduced in the new Mahatma Gandhi new series in the coming month.
