New era of Tamil Nadu politics

128 Dey the Supreme Court of India brought an end to the 2 decade old this disproportionate assets case filed against let Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and her aide VK Sasikala and that 2 to 4 year in prison and 10 crore each.

The case has come through many twist and turns, 7 years after it was filed in 2003 the case was shifted from Tamilnadu to neighbouring Karnataka.

about 11 a latter day special court convicted J Jayalalitha and the three more other person.

In 2015 the Karnataka High Court acquitted the accused and this was challenged by the Karnataka government in the supreme court.

The apex court 500 page judgement on Tuesday found incriminating evidence against the accused .
However the proceeding against late  Chief Minister abated.

The Supreme Court verdict is good news on many counts.
The most important is that it send the message that the low will catch up with those who indulge in financial in regularities, no matter how powerful and political well connected they are .On the political front the verdict seals Sasikala's electoral chances electrial changes.

and with that her ambition of becoming the chief minister of the state for the next 10 years.

The legal option before her are limited, Sasikala can file a review petition which will be hurt by the to judges and thereafter file curative petition before the court.

Sasikala could still run the aiadmk government from jail,if the faction loyal to her.
